In UVM Springfield, we have a window on the mind of Dr. Donald Balch, 33 year horseman and director of the UVM breeding program, and perhaps the farm's most important director over its history. Springfield is sired by UVM Elite, a stallion that Dr. Balch considered his greatest achievement. His dam, UVM Graceful, was sired by UVM Highlight, a notable stallion from this farm and also the sire of UVM Promise and UVM Sinbad. Graceful was out of UVM Novelty, Balch's favorite mare at the farm. With a beautiful head, high-set neck and tremendous drive off the hocks, Springfield offers breeders an alternative of government strength coupled with style.
